Packing service in Leeds
Packing is the work of boxing a home or office so it can travel safely. You can book it for every room, or only for the rooms you do not want to do yourself.

What we pack
Kitchens take the longest. Glasses, plates, pans and food that is staying all need a method, and the cupboards are usually deeper than people expect. After that, mirrors, pictures and lamps need more paper than books. Clothes can go into wardrobe cartons so they are not crushed in mixed boxes.
We label by room. Fragile boxes are marked so they are not stacked under books. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book, including china you care about.
We will not pack half-used paint, gas bottles, or anything leaking. If a room is full of items you might donate, sort that before we arrive. Packing time is for wrapping, not for decisions.
Homes and offices
A family house in Roundhay or Moortown often wants the kitchen and the display cabinet done, and the rest left to the owners. A smaller flat in Headingley may want the whole place boxed because there is no spare evening. Offices usually want files and pedestal contents crated, with IT left to their own staff.
Packing is booked with the move in almost every case. If you only need materials and advice, say that plainly so we do not diary a crew you do not want.

How many rooms
A kitchen and two bedrooms is a smaller job than a whole family house with a garage full of loose items.
What is fragile
China, glass, mirrors and artwork take more time and materials than books and linen.
How ready the house is
Cupboards that are already edited down pack faster than rooms where we are sorting as we go. We pack what you want moved. We do not decide what to throw away.
Office files
Pedestal drawers and archive boxes are quoted by volume. Confidential papers should be flagged so they are labelled clearly.
When packing happens
Packing the day before the move needs a separate visit. Same-day packing only works on smaller homes.

Packing service FAQs
Can I pack some rooms myself?
Yes. Many people pack clothes and books, and ask us to do the kitchen and anything glass. Say which rooms are yours when you book.
Do you unpack?
Unpacking can be added for the rooms we packed. It is a separate line on the quote. We do not unpack a house that was boxed by someone else unless we have agreed to.
What should I leave out?
Passports, medication, laptops, jewellery and anything you need the same night should stay with you. Tell us about paints, fuels and other items we cannot put in the van.
Is packing included in a house move?
Only if it is on the quote. A [house removal](/house-removals-leeds/) can be furniture only, with you supplying packed boxes.
Are materials included?
Boxes, paper and wardrobe cartons for the rooms we pack are included in the packing quote. Ask if you want spare boxes left for the rooms you are doing yourself.
