Directions from Leeds City Centre to our Leeds base
Leeds City Centre is mostly flats, student blocks and offices stacked over shops. LS1 and LS2 cover the station, the civic quarter and the streets north towards the universities. Houses with drives are rare. A typical job is a lift, a long corridor and a stop that has to be agreed with the building.
Parking is the part that decides the day. Many streets are double yellows, bus gates or time-limited loading. Some blocks have a basement car park with a height bar that a removal van cannot enter. Others have a loading bay that the concierge books in hour slots. Tell us the building name, the floor and whether the lift is a goods lift. If the bay is on a side street, we need to know which entrance the trolleys can use. A van left on a yellow line is a ticket, not a plan.
Match days at Elland Road sit to the south, on the M621 side. Cricket and rugby at Headingley sit to the north. Neither ground is in the centre, but both can slow the roads between Woodhouse and the flat. Insurance is provided. Ask what is covered when you book.
See flat removals for lift blocks and office removals if the job is a workplace rather than a home. Nearby pages: Holbeck and Woodhouse. Leeds removals is based in Woodhouse, a short run from the centre.
Send the floor number, the lift booking and a photo of the loading door if you have one. Service corridors in LS1 blocks often ban you from the resident lobby, so the longer route is the one the building will actually allow. If the bay is only 20 minutes, we stage boxes in the van and move in loads rather than leave the vehicle sitting.

Moving in Leeds City Centre: common questions
Can a removal van stop on a city centre street?
Only where the bay allows it. Many streets are double yellows, bus gates or loading bans. Tell us the building name and we will plan a legal stop, or a booked loading bay, before the day.
Do city centre flats have goods lifts?
Some blocks do, and some only have a passenger lift with a weight limit. If the lift is booked by the building, send us the time slot. Stairs from a basement car park add time.
Where do city centre residents take bulky waste?
Leeds residents use a household waste site such as Kirkstall, not a city centre car park. Check the council page for what the site will not take, including the current fridge restriction.
