Moving into a Leeds city centre flat

City centre flats are ruled by the lift booking and the loading bay. Furniture size matters only after those are known.

Boxes stacked for a flat move

A city centre flat move is a flat removal. The building usually decides the timetable.

Lifts and bays

Many blocks around the station, the river and Holbeck have a goods lift and a loading door that is not the main entrance. Slots can be short. Book the slot, then tell us. If the building wants floor protection or a copy of insurance details, ask us before the day. Insurance is provided. We do not print cover figures.

Service lifts are sometimes shared with contractors. A delay there is common. Build a little slack into your own plans for keys and for anyone meeting you.

The street

Stopping outside is not guaranteed. Loading bays, double yellow lines and one-way streets are normal. Check the signs and ask Leeds City Council if you need a dispensation. Send a photo of the door you want us to use, not only the show flat.

The flat itself

Measure the sofa against the lift and the stair. Protective film on new floors can stay until you want it off. We will not remove fittings. Have boxes packed. If you are coming from a house elsewhere in Leeds, say which address has the tight access. Both ends matter.

Frequently asked questions

Who books the goods lift?

You do, with the building manager. Tell us the slot and we will aim to arrive for it.

What if my sofa will not fit in the lift?

Tell us before the day and send sizes. Some pieces have to come up the stairs or cannot enter. We will not force them.
